welcome!

If you’re looking for a photographer to capture the fun and love of your family, then you’ve come to the right place. I believe those moments are meant to be preserved as memories.

First Birthday Session – Lets Go Fishing!

First Birthday Session – Lets Go Fishing!

How do you get a one-year-old boy to have fun at a photoshoot? Just take him fishing! Kaleigh (mom) found me through a mutual friend and contacted me to book her son’s first birthday session. When she told me that she was hoping to do a fishing theme, I couldn’t wait to get started putting the look together.

All about sweet Brookes

I asked Kaleigh to tell me a little about her son Brooks in order to best capture his personality. She said that although he’s not quite walking yet, Brooks “loves new faces and being talked to! He’s a busy body, but loves to eat (so I’m hoping the cake will keep him still lol). He loves Daniel tiger and the wiggles. He’s typically a happy little guy and getting smiles out of him is not hard!”

It sounded to me like a shoot in a pretty park with a little pond would be a perfect location to capture this little explorer…and I think I was right. He looked right at home sitting on a wooden box with a handmade fishing pole in tow. I loved the overalls Kaleigh put him in with his wiggly toes poking out. So cute!! And his big brown eyes were just mesmerizing. I loved photographing this smiley guy.

If you’re worried about the baby and water combo, not to worry. I always keep safety first, and Mom was right next to him the entire time (thanks photoshop!). Plus, the water was actually only ankle deep.

After nothing but a few nibbles from the fish, it was time for Brooks to take a break with a few bites of his smash cake. He was a little hungrier than the fish and LOVED smashing his adorably decorated cake.

It was so great meeting Kaleigh and sweet Brooks, and I wish him the happiest birthday!

Extended Conroe Family Session – Schifler Family

Extended Conroe Family Session – Schifler Family

One of the sweetest recurring themes I’ve noticed as a photographer is that mamas LOVE having all of their kiddos together. Whether it be a mom of a baby and a preschooler or a mom of five grown children, their faces just light up when they see their “babies” together.

    about this sweet session

So, I wasn’t surprised when Nancy contacted me wanting to do some family photos while their grown children and grandbaby were in town at the same time. Having them all here was a big deal because John and Kara work in New York city—John as a film editor and Kara in HR. They love the urban life and traveling. Meanwhile, Laura and Kyle live in Fort Worth (after meeting at TCU). They’re both incredibly musical and love theater, but more importantly, they’re the loving parents of that handsome little cutie in the photos. Paul and Nance are both retired now and LOVE playing with their baby grandson—just look at the huge smiles on their faces as they snuggled him close.

All together, they were THE most welcoming family to me! They really made me feel like one of their own, and it was so easy to find a natural rhythm while photographing them. Their smiles were so genuine, and they clearly love spending time together, so finding the right shots wasn’t hard (but picking which ones to use was—they were all so sweet!)

We did the session at a park in their Conroe neighborhood, and it was absolutely amazing. The fall foliage seriously looked like we were up north—I couldn’t believe all of the color! And the glow of the sun gave us the perfect lighting for warm family session.

Thanks for the chance to spend some time with your beautiful group, Schifler Family! I truly had an amazing time photographing you all!

Woodlands Family Photographer | Mommy and Me Session

Woodlands Family Photographer | Mommy and Me Session

Having a daughter is such a special experience for many moms. Even if our personalities or looks differ, daughters often remind us a little of ourselves during childhood. Watching them play and grow allows us to relive the joys of the simpler aspects of life like picking flowers, swinging at the playground, dressing up in princess dresses, and singing made up songs at the top of our lungs. There’s no one way to be little girl—some prefer jumping in mud puddles while others like tea parties—but their vibrant personalities make them so uniquely beautiful and precious.

      about this session with Autumn

Lauren and Autumn came in for Autumn’s 5th birthday shoot. They opted for a more natural, outdoorsy theme with the life-sized floral hoop wreath, perfect for Spring photos. Since Autumn is growing up so fast, they wanted to do some Mommy and Me shots as well. I always encourage moms to get at least one or two shots with their girls, even if they feel a little silly at first. As moms, we’re always the ones taking the pictures, but very rarely do we take (or rather find) time to get in on the photos ourselves. But capturing these moments together and the close bonds we have with our children is so very important—something we’ll wish we took time for as the years go on.

These two beautiful ladies were truly a pleasure to photograph. Autumn is the sweetest girl and has the most beautiful hair! She looked like a real-life princess sitting there delicately encircled with flowers. With her huge five-year milestone coming up in November, her mom wanted to capture the sweetness of this stage before she no longer wants to wear frill princess dresses, and I think these photos came out beautifully.

Family Photographer North Houston | Milestone Session

Family Photographer North Houston | Milestone Session

I offer not just newborn and birthday sessions but also milestone shoots in between because children change so much from year to year. In order to capture all of those moments that happen between rolling over and walking, doing a few mini sessions every 3-6 months will make sure that you never miss a beat in your child’s development! Trust me, they’re all worth capturing, and you’ll love looking back on all of those fun photographs from their first year.

        About this sweet family

I’ve seen Wylie and his family a few times in the last year, and it’s been such a sweet experience to see him grow. What an honor that they’ve allowed me into their lives to capture these memories for them! I couldn’t believe it when they called to set up his first birthday session—time really flies at this stage! With Wylie turning the Big ONE, we did a session at their home. At this age, babies are much more aware of their surroundings and can get a little nervous in the studio. In-home sessions help make your toddlers feel so much more comfortable and relaxed. In their “natural habitat,” babies are more likely to show off those giggles and cute personalities to ensure that these precious memories are preserved forever.

Wylie absolutely loved it when will filled his crib with blue balloons. His matching outfit and party hat were too cute! After his one-year portraits, it was time to bring out the cake! Like most little ones, he was a little skeptical and unsure of what to do at first, but like us all, it only took one taste. Then we headed to the bubble bath for some fun-filled cleanup (with rubber duckies of course). Happy birthday, handsome boy! I have LOVED watching you grow this past year, and can’t wait for the next session!

Fall Petite Sessions 2018 | The Woodlands Mini Sessions

Fall Petite Sessions 2018 | The Woodlands Mini Sessions

Look at all of these cuties, beauties, and their amazing parents! Texas is kind of weird when it comes to seasons, but I have to admit, I’m in love with fall. Each year, I look forward to the temperature finally dropping below the 90s and into those first few cool fronts. Since I live in The Woodlands (aptly named for the dense trees), I know that late fall turns the trees into magnificent shades of red, orange, and yellow. It takes a little longer than most states, but the artful autumn display happens eventually. I try to schedule my Fall Petite Sessions accordingly.

Crazy enough for Texas, these sessions ended up being VERY cold, but we made it through all of the families wonderfully. Even the littlest ones did an amazing job! Honestly, the cold weather gave families a chance to break out their super cute fall and winter apparel. (Fall pictures just aren’t the same in sundresses and sandals.) These families must have been on Pinterest because the complementary outfit choices were all so perfect!

For these sessions, I got to catch up with some of my returning clients, and I met some new faces, too! I just loved capturing these moments for each family and highlighting their delightful personalities. Some of the younger ones made me forget about the cold as they kept me laughing at their adorable antics throughout the shoot. I love being a family photographer!

This year, my Fall Sessions had two package options and were held in The Woodlands at a local park.
