Summer Activity Ideas – Family Photography
Ahhhh summer is here. And guess what, its already hot!!
My daughter has been the first to say she is ready for fun in the sun via swimming pools!! Anything to keep us cool in this summer heat, and also away from those pesky mosquitos!
Here are a few of our favorite things to do in the Summer in the Houston and Woodlands areas.
- SWIMMING! Whether it be at a Township swimming pool or Hurricane Harbor/Splash Town, these two are family favorites to keep us cool and get some Vitamin D during the summer months. Our top three favorite pools in the Woodlands are Rob Fleming Aquatic Park, Wendtwoods Pool and Cranebrook Pools!
- SKATING! Skating is a great indoor activity for the summer during the hottest parts of the day. Sk8town in the Woodlands is SO MUCH FUN. Tuesday nights are cheap skate nights too, which is so fun.
- SAFARI TIME! We absolutely adore Aggieland Safari. Its a little drive but the animal interactions and encounter are the best around. I mean where else can you walk right up to a giraffe and feed them!! They have so many fun animals, and a huge turtle area to feed the tortoises as well as bird feeding and goats! Once you have done the interactive part, the drive thru is so much fun with so many more animals! Beware of those ostriches! I am terrified of them ha!
- ZOO! The Houston Zoo is always a favorite. I mean who doesn’t love seeing all the amazing animals and walking the park. The seal information and encounters is worth waiting for!
- URBAN AIR! Oh what fun is the trampoline park!! Bouncing and Air Conditioner! What else can you ask for!
- SNO CONES! Our faves are Pucketts Sno Cones and Suzie Q’s Shaved Ice!
- Lake Woodlands Activities – If you do these early morning or late evening – its perfect! The water isn’t too hot and they have Paddle Boards, Kayak, Swan Boats and the new water bikes! We haven’t tried the water bikes yet but those are on our list for this summer!
- Hiking! Early morning or late evening again but George Mitchell Preserve and WJ Jones forest offer amazing hiking trails to explore our area! And hey if you do early morning stop and get a sno cone after!
