The Woodlands Extended Family Session
I love all of my clients dearly, and one of my favorite things about being a photographer is building relationships with the families I photograph. As I get to know them, especially if they book multiple sessions over the years, I’m able to fully capture the essence of who they are. Plus, it’s amazing to watch their little ones grow and develop—I’m always astonished at how fast they transform from tiny newborns to toddling two-year-olds and on to playful preschoolers. When I get back together with returning clients, it’s like meeting up with old friends. We can always pick right back up where we left off.
About this sweet family
Erin and her Husband Dustin have entrusted me to do their family photos since the announcement of their pregnancy. Since then, I have seen them for a maternity session, lifestyle newborn session, bluebonnet mini session, and first birthday milestone shoot. So when they contacted me to do an extended family session in November, I couldn’t wait to get it booked and see their smiling faces again. This great gathering would include Dustin’s parents as well as his sister and her family—how amazing that they can all get together like this!
Unfortunately, we faced dreary weather as everyone was coming in from out of town. But I knew there had to be another option. Getting this many people together doesn’t happen every day. Sure enough, we lucked out when we found out about The Oak Atelier, a photography and event venue in Magnolia! They had an amazing indoor space to use with huge windows, skylights, and white-washed brick—perfect for capturing natural light. The sky was overcast yet not raining for us to capture some poses outside too. I absolutely adore this family and love how they make me feel like one of their own. I’m thrilled we not only made this work, but found the perfect spot to capture their entire group. Until next time, Dresner Family!
